IDENT Technology AG and AU Optronics Corporation (AUO) announced a strategic partnership to jointly develop a new generation of Multi-touch and 3D Displays with integrated long range free-space 3D gesture control capabilities. Beyond other segments the fast growing tablet PC market will be targeted first.

IDENT´s GestIC ID gesture control chip goes into operation for the first time. Worldwide the first LCM display with integrated free-space gesture control functionality will be provided.

AUO is the global leader in the field of TFT-LCD displays. AUO generated USD 16 billion in sales revenue in 2010 with global operations in Taiwan, Mainland China, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, the US and Europe.
