M-O-SYS has developed a new technology for connecting profiles, tubes and components from plastics, aluminium and various other materials.

M-O-SYS markets friction welding and polishing machines on the basis of the multi-orbital friction welding technology, which is under a worldwide patent. These products enable very high cycle times as well as the connection between plastics and various metallurgic materials (e.g. aluminium-steel) as well as welding of fibre composites and composite materials (e.g.: aluminium-PVC).

Furthermore, the method works independently from the geometry and mass of the work piece, with high process quality and reproducibility, thereby lowering energy consumption by approximately 80% as compared to fusion welding.

This technology is suitable for a number of material combinations in many industries, such as the automotive and aviation technologies, household appliances, plastics, metallurgy, industrial and chemical plant construction, etc.
